Cleansers for Men with Oily Skin
A) Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser
Cetaphil is a simple, no-frills brand and their oily skin cleanser epitomises this. It’s an effective cleanser that gently foams and in the process, removes oil and dirt. It won’t leave your skin feeling tight and is also strong enough to remove sunscreen. The only issue we have with this cleanser is that is has a “masking fragrance” which may irritate some men’s skin. That said, this is an affordable cleanser that does the job well. Great choice for the guys who want something simple and basic.
B) MenScience Daily Face Wash
Although this cleaner is marketed for all skin types, the key ingredients (Glycolic Acid and Salicylic Acid) make it ideal for men with oily skin. Glycolic Acid is an AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) which helps exfoliates surface skin cells, thereby improving the texture of your skin by getting rid of dead skin. On the other hand, Salicylic Acid is a BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) and is used in many acne treatments. It works by penetrating clogged pores skin and clears away dirt and grim inside skin pores. So put the two together and you have a great multi-functional cleanser for men with oily skin.
C) Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash
This cleanser sits on the stronger side of oily skin cleansers, so it’s suited for men with really oily skin or have acne issues. Like the MenScience cleanser, this cleanser has uses Salicylic Acid at 2% concentration. The texture of this is gel-like, and can feel a bit sticky. It also smells odd but is a solid cleanser. Because of how strong it is, we’d recommend you use it at night, and use a normal cleanser during the day. Also, you have to follow this up with a moisturizer, or your skin will severely dry out.
